Marcello Coat - Paper Pattern - Maison Fauve

PATTERN

MARCELLO slips on like a borrowed men's coat, but its belted drape creates an infinitely feminine silhouette. This knee-length, collarless coat is belted at the waist, and the neckline delicately rises along the neck. Its buttonless construction emphasizes a relaxed yet assertive look, with sophisticated tailoring details on the shoulder and back.

With its straight and clean lines, it is inspired by 60s Italian tailoring, playing on the strength of a defined shoulder and the softness of a drape to snuggle into. A falsely androgynous must-have for uncompromising elegance.

Sewing level: ADVANCED. Technical points include the piped pocket, inset pieces, flat lining assembly, and collar easing.

SIZES

The Marcello coat comes in sizes 34 to 52, for a height of 1m65 in size 36. The finished garment measurement chart is available in the product photos. 

SUPPLIES

• Fabrics with a width of 140 cm: 34-42: 220 cm, 44-46: 240 cm, 48-52: 270 cm

• Lining: 34-46: 160 cm, 48-52: 220 cm

• 110 cm of iron-on interfacing such as Vlieseline G700

FABRIC

Only woven fabrics, wool (boiled wool, caban wool, wool broadcloth), tweed, weighing 250 to 500g/m2 depending on the desired look. For the lining, I recommend choosing a specific lining fabric, such as our 100% cupro lining, which is more slippery and breathable than polyester.
