The KATM label gauge is an excellent tool for guiding label placement with 4 different seam allowance measurements.

The dotted line shows you where to place the raw edge of your fabric, and the end of each tab is where you should sew.

Thanks to the transparency of the gauge, you can see exactly where your label is positioned and know how much will be caught in the seam.
