How to make your own hair scrunchie
I made myself four widths of hair ties. My favorites are the medium and the small, so I made them for you as a PDF pattern. You can download them right here. It is also possible to trace the sizes directly on the fabric, I use a Frixion pencil , because it disappears with the heat of the iron.

Here are the measurements:
Jumbo: 60cm x 15cm
Large: 55cm x 12cm
Medium: 50cm x 10cm
Small: 45cm x 8cm

**sewing allowances included (1cm)

Elastic length: Rubber elastic or 21cm of 0.5cm wide elastic

Making steps

With rubber band (closed)
1- Fold the fabric in half, right sides together, lengthwise and insert the elastic between the two layers.
2- Sew all along at 1cm except the first three and the last three centimeters.
3- Turn right side out, either with your fingers or with a spring pin. Iron.
5- Sew the smaller sides of the rectangle together, right sides together, at 1cm.
5- Close the opening with a seam either by hand or by machine.

With regular elastic (not closed)
1- Fold the fabric in half, right sides together, lengthwise and sew along the entire length at 1cm except the first three and the last three centimeters.
2- Turn right side out, either with your fingers or with a spring pin. Iron.
3- Sew the smaller sides of the rectangle together, right sides together, at 1cm.
4- Insert the elastic inside using a spring pin.
5- Sew the two elastic ends together, overlapping them by 1.5cm.
6- Close the opening with a seam either by hand or by machine.

You can find a short video (IGTV) of these two techniques on the workshop's Instagram account.
I had fun on the jumbo, I made a seam at the end to trap the elastic.

Good sewing
